The Haitian Center for Humanitarian Action (CEHAH) is more than a non-profit organization, it is a movement, created on January 1, 2007.
We are a humanitarian organization whose mission is to help the poor, disadvantaged, and socially excluded majority in Haiti. We are registered in three countries; the United States of America, Canada and Haiti as a 501 c (3). The organization was created to promote, plan, coordinate, and support programs by the Haitian diaspora.
The CEHAH is driven by a common vision focused on diaspora solidarity in home country development. We work with local organizations on the ground making sustainable changes and government institutions. We provide support for grassroots groups and deliver training and workshops on agriculture, health, and education in remote socially excluded areas.
Deliver eco-friendly programs and trainings to increase, promote and improve local agriculture and food sufficiency.
We ensure local schools are able to provide hot meals for students and with the help of our partners, ensure children have access to free books and supplies.
Through local and international collaboration we deliver training and workshops for health workers, supply equipment and materials for local clinics and bring medical staff to isolated and socially excluded areas in rural Haiti.
We would appreciate your donation. CEHAH counts heavily on the goodwill of our stakeholders and supporters. Your donation will help support our delivery of the most innovative initiatives across the country so that Haiti can move into a new decade towards long-term sustainable development. CEHAH would like to thank all those who wish to support our efforts to make your donation
When people help people, Change happens. We'd love to hear from you
A few decades ago, Haiti was a country that exported staple foods. Up into the mid to late 1980s, Haiti was food sufficient. After the introduction of unfair trade agreements and illusions of trickle-down economic policies, Haiti is currently food poor with most food items being imported.
This is not because Haiti cannot produce but because of government neglect to invest in agro-business and agro-infrastructure. To remedy this CEHAH has teamed up with Caribbean Farmers without Boarders to create a regional collective effort to increase agricultural investment, development and trade.
